Frequently Asked Questions

  • Like many private speech therapists in New York City, we are private pay only and do not accept in-network insurance. We also do not accept EI, CPSE, DOE vouchers, or Medicaid.

However, depending on your health plan, we may be able to provide you with a monthly receipt of services (called a superbill) that you can submit to your health insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

In certain situations, families may obtain funding for our services through a third-party payer, allowing us to offer our services to families without any associated costs.

  • We specialize in the following:

    • Language Development

    • Speech Development

    • Oral-Motor Development

    • Early Reading Skills

    • Feeding Development (please see below)

Please note that for feeding therapy, we work on feeding as it relates muscle-based, oral-motor skills and development. At this time, we do not see clients for feeding for: breastfeeding, picky eating, tube feeding, or first chewing skills.

  • We generally work with children ages 1-7 years old.

  • Speech therapy typically requires a minimum 6-month commitment to make progress towards speech therapy goals.

It is also important to note that some children require longer term speech therapy to support their ongoing development, especially during their critical developmental years.

  • We don’t require any long-term contracts and you pay for our speech therapy on a per-session basis. You may cancel at any time with no penalty.

  • Yes, your child will need a speech evaluation to start speech therapy. If your child has not had a prior speech evaluation, Laura will complete one with you and your child.

We also accept evaluation reports completed by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and licensed Neuropsychologists.

  • Parents have options when choosing the location for speech therapy with us:

    1. We offer sessions in our office in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

    2. We come to you and offer sessions in the child's home or school in Greenpoint and Williamsburg Brooklyn.

  • If you need to cancel a session, we ask for at least a 24 hour notice. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance of the session, you may be charged a late cancellation fee.

However, please note this fee can be put towards a makeup session within 30 days of the cancelled session.
